Welcome to the application system for the MSc Studentship Award Scheme.

The awards are supported by the British Hydrological Society, JBA Trust and Environment Agency.

We aim to support talented students wishing to complete an MSc course related to hydrology, water resources and catchment management and to encourage the development of academic expertise in hydrology.

The studentships will be awarded to a small number of students to help towards tuition costs at UK Higher Education Institutions for MSc courses starting in Autumn 2019. Awards are anticipated to be between £1,500 and £2,500 depending on the number and quality of applicants.

Hydrology is the science that underpins some of the biggest challenges we face across the globe. Water availability is key to the survival of individuals, communities and economies, whilst it can also devastate on the same scales. Changes in climate and population mean that these challenges are growing, making hydrological science more relevant than ever.

As a hydrologist, your role could involve analysing data to understand natural and human-made systems, as well as providing practical information to decision-makers that will have a direct impact on people's lives

It is strongly advised that applicants read the notes on award eligibility that are available under the terms and conditions before starting the application process.

The closing date for applications is 15 July 2019.
